What is the difference between Alert Ready and ePACT?

Last Updated: Nov 26, 2018 10:56AM PST
Alert Ready is Canada’s emergency alerting system. Alert Ready delivers critical alerts to Canadians through television, radio and LTE-connected and compatible wireless devices, and there is no sign up process required. If you do not receive an alert from AlertReady, please contact your wireless service provider for inquiries regarding public alerting services and device compatibility. Learn more about Alert Ready at https://www.alertready.ca/.

ePACT is used by specific communities to send notifications to residents, including Haida Gwaii, the District of Squamish, Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, Squamish Nation, the Village of Pemberton, and the Village of Lions Bay. You must sign-up and create an ePACT account to receive emergency notifications from these communities. Notifications are sent by these communities via ePACT as emails, text messages, and voice messages.
